There are many things that can make a game great. One of those things can be something so simple as capitalizing on the perfect thing to do in the right scenario. And no matter where any of us have ever worked, the one thing we always strived to do (I'm assuming here...) is to screw around while on the job. Ball at Work not only allows you to do that, it encourages it.

Through the game's levels, you'll be undertaking the very simple looking task of getting a ball into the wastepaper basket. However, it's going to be quite a bit more complex than your stereotypical basketball style. You'll be directly in control of the ball itself, navigating it over and through various obstacles in hopes of getting to and in the basket.
As the ball, you can roll and jump your way to your goals. It's a limited list of "moves" but you'll need to become quite the master of them. Each level will see you getting around a lot of normal office objects in a not so normal fashion. There are plenty of desks to cross, shelves to climb, and gaps you'll need to jump to avoid hitting the floor.

You'll also have books, plants, and lamps in your path, and what's more is some of these are obstacles in more ways than one. Certain objects will be outlined in a bold red, indicating that these things will fall once they are touched or if you get close enough to them. Sometimes these can be helpful, creating ramps to areas that were too high to jump to. Other times, it'll create a quick hazard, so you'll either need to read the situation quickly in the moment or you'll be restarting the level.

One thing the game does is provide in-world tips for getting through the levels, and it does it in a pretty nice way too. Instead of throwing annoying pop ups at you, it uses the office's computer monitors and projectors to display tips. So if you're looking for some help it's usually right there, but if you prefer to suffer and figure things out for yourself these tips are easy to ignore let them fall into the background of the world. And if you find yourself really struggling, you can use in-game bonus slips to unlock video walkthroughs of each level.
Ball at Work is a pretty fun and easy to play game. If you're not sure this type of game is for you, the base version of it is absolutely free to play, and grants you access to just under half of the games levels. End up loving the game, the Boss Edition which unlocks everything is very cheap and incredibly worth it. With the DLC you'll get access to any new content added to the game as well as the LiveWire Series where you can compete and earn Steam Gift Cards as a reward.

So if you like challenging platformers, what you have here is a great and affordable (or even free!) with ways to earn some cool prizes, and even further content down the road. You can even earn new looks for your ball as you play and end up with a baseball, soccer ball, and even a Spider-Man themed one! It's a game that might not be for everyone, but if it's for you, you'll absolutely love it.
