|| NEWS || Ubisoft Forward 2020

We all know I'm a huge fan of Ubisoft and their games. I'm personally excited to see what new information they're about to unleash on previously announced games, as well as any newbies they might drop. If you know me, you know the one thing I always look forward to when Ubisoft is doing a conference is anything Splinter Cell related so...let's see how Ubisoft Forward goes.

Watch Dogs : Legion

In an interesting move, they led off the conference with Watch Dogs : Legion which is arguably their most hyped yet-to-be released game. It was begun with a sequence that was not in-game captured footage, but instead an indie style film giving a little background the world and version of London you'll be entering into once this game releases. This rolled into a sequence of game footage showing off more of the features like recruiting anybody from the streets. I'm personally excited for this game, I loved both the first two games and can't wait to see what happens with Legion. The on-street war between Ded-Sec and Albion should be a fun one to play out at your fingertips. We even got a sneak peek at running a mission (not in full, just some snippets) showing off the different ways you can complete objectives and overcome obstacles with the wide variety of citizens you can recruit to the resistance. Compared to the last games, everything about this one looks better and much more finished. Excited for this game? You won't have to wait longer, Ubisoft revealed the game's new release date of October 29, 2020.

Brawlhalla

What seems to be Ubisoft's surprisingly strong answer to Super Smash Bros, this game has been out for sometime. This announcement served to reveal the game's launching to mobile devices on August 6th, with cross-play for all plaforms.

Might & Magic

This is a franchise that goes way back for Ubisoft, but it's not one that I've ever played. We got a bit of footage and the announcement to download on your phones essentially right now.

Elite Squad

Yet another mobile game, this was announced last year. It's a tactical looking game that mashes up characters from every Tom Clancy game franchise that Ubi has. Unfortunately, nothing specific was released, not even a release date as it ended with "Coming Soon"

Hyper Scape

The company's entrance into the Battle Royale scene was just released not long before the conference. What was shown served as background to the world this game is set in, detailing a world that's massively crowded and seemingly not...a very good place to live. Everyone's escape? The Hyper Scape, a virtual arena to square off against other civilians in the hunt for a crown. They even talked to a few of those behind the scenes and showed off some gameplay, even the Twitch integration features. The segment ended with a reminder of the game going to open beta today.

Assassin's Creed : Valhalla

Fans of the Assassin's Creed games have been pumped since the latest entry was announced a few months ago. Ubisoft treated everyone to a deep dive look at the new game where they showed how in depth the team went into learning all they could about how Vikings used to live in their quest for a new home. They unveiled a lot of details about the combat, enemy types, and a whole slew of things to lose yourself in once the game releases, which is supposed to be later this year, November 17.

Far Cry 6

As much as I want more Splinter Cell content, after yesterday's leak of the next Far Cry title I was more than happy to see this full and confirmed. The unveiling introduced us to the new games villain played by Giancarlo Esposito and his son Diego. A grenade is forced into Diego's hands with the pin pulled as he walks around with his father, El Presidente. The world around them is ravaged and torn apart by constant fighting on the streets. If you're like me an impatient for the game to release, it won't be a long wait as the projected release date of February 2021.

All in all, the games revealed during the main segment of the show were pretty exciting. The conference as a whole was a pretty big let down since nothing unveiled during this video package was actually unveiled. Everything has been projects that were announced before and today's event only served to push out a release date, but some couldn't even do that.
