Cute, Fluffy, Deadly

It's probably not every day that you get to hear the word "cute" alongside something that involves the mob. However, when you step into the role of Mr. Bunny Rabbit who is an actual bunny as well as a hitman for the mob well...nobody says it but come on you're a bunny! Cuteness aside though, you're being called upon to eliminate a rival gang. You'll need to break your way into their buildings and shoot your way through every single one of them.

Your skills as a hitman will come quite in handy for the job at hand. Over the game's 20 missions you'll use a variety of weapons to deal out the death necessary. Each mission starts with a silenced pistol in your hand. The pistol has a limited amount of shots, and you only go in with the one clip. Luckily enough though, if you run out there are usually weapons lying around for you to pick up and use like assault rifles, shotguns, and revolvers.

No Cleanup Necessary

The job is only done once the location you have visited is littered with bodies everywhere. You'll start from your car, bust into the building, kill every single person inside and return to your car to end the job. The buildings are broken up into various rooms, some of which will be empty for navigating purposes, while most will be occupied by one, two, or sometimes three people that need to be eliminated.

Aiming is a simple matter of how far away from yourself you're trying to shoot. The closer you aim, the more true your shot will be. Aim further, and there's a chance your bullets may be just off line. Each gun has a different way of shooting, for instance the pistol and revolver will need to be shot off one round at a time, but the submachine gun and assault rifle can be held down to spray. Shotguns need to be fired off individually too, but will unleash rounds in a spread that can potentially hit multiple targets, or one-shot someone who's close enough.

Getting the Job Done

You'll need to be careful as you travel around. The enemies have near-perfect vision, so if you are anywhere in their line of sight no matter how far away you are. Since the buildings can be peppered with plenty of windows, you'll need to be very cautious. To enter most rooms, you'll need to open a door. The benefit of this is that it provides a small barrier, letting you set up the perfect moment to pop in on an unsuspecting mob member, however it is a surface and can't be shot through (not even with something heavy duty) so you'll need to make sure you're completely clear of it before you start loosing bullets.

In essence, all you really need to do is complete the levels. If you're looking for a bit of a challenge, there are three requirements you can meet in each level. The first of these is to not take any damage. Next, you'll have to complete it not using the game's Focus mode, which basically slows time down a bit giving you plenty of time to line up some beautiful shots. The last challenge is to beat the par time. The first two of these challenges can be fairly easy, however the par time just might pinch out some nerd rage from you.

All in all, this game was a lot of fun, and my only complaint was that it was too short. There are only the 20 levels, so unless you're squeezing out the challenge from the extra objectives, you can run through this game extremely fast. Fear not, there are custom levels to build and download through the Steam Workshop, so while the base game itself can be over pretty quick, content can potentially be endless with custom levels.

If you like top-down shooters that are tactical and offer a somewhat puzzly element, you will absolutely love Bad Business. It's unique, and the sheer fact that you can make and play custom levels gives this game extended life, whereas without it, things would fizzle and fade out. Top that off with the game only costing a single dollar and seriously...why haven't you picked up a copy yet? Stop reading, go to Steam and get this game right now, I promise you won't regret.
